Our Philosophy
All of us at St. Michael School-Students, Teachers, Staff, Parents, and Parishioners-form a faith community centered on God, our Father, Jesus, our Brother, and the Holy Spirit, our Helper and Guide.
In Union with the United States Bishops, we believe that we first hear and know God's Word (message). After hearing His message, we form a community of believers which then reaches out to those in need (service.)
In this community atmosphere, we work together to develop the full potential of each student entrusted to us. We believe that a positive self-concept is a must in this development of each person's potential. We strive for excellence in education through the use of a variety of techniques to help students grown in all aspects- spiritually, intellectually, socially, physically, and psychologically.
We work to keep an open channel of communication between all concerned with
St. Michael School.
It is our hope that, through their experience of being members of St. Michael School Faith Community, students will be prepared to bring Christian values of love, peace, justice, and global concerns into the world of their daily lives.
Faculty members have developed goals, objectives, and activities that flow from this philosophy.
Faith Community
By its very nature, Catholic Education is unique and different from public education in some of its expectations. It seeks not only to perform adequate public service for society, but also to instill religious values in agreement with Catholic doctrine and the teachings and example of Jesus and the Gospel.
Faculty, staff and students in a Catholic school work to form a faith community. A faith community is a group of believers who already know, but are searching to know the Lord Jesus in a fuller manner. In this process, faculty, staff and students strive to grow in their love and support of one another as they respond to Christ's love for us.
